“AREAS USA” – TURNING UNUSED RETAIL STORE SPACE INTO PROFITABLE MERCHANDISABLE SPACE

THE OPPORTUNITY

As Areas USA was renovating in both Atlanta and LAX airports, they asked Polyfab for retail transformation to design and provide extra POP and magazine/newspaper display solutions to maximize every inch of possible space – cash registers, doors, ledges, and such. These units also needed to be general enough to be rolled out at multiple locations.

THE SOLUTION

Retail Transformation Case Study

Cash Wraps

Polyfab designed and manufactured two different options, both supporting the sale of impulse items (gum, candy, energy shots, etc.) as well as magazines and periodicals with the use of pockets.

  • Stand Alone Style

Polyfab created a tiered display that enclosed the cash register.  Benefits?  Added security, capitalization of retail space for higher profits, and generation of increased revenue through leasable space.

  • Expansion of Merchandising Space on Existing Wraps

Polyfab created a system which allowed the addition of extra pockets and bins to their existing cash wraps, maximizing all available space.

Retail Display Stands and Cases

Ledge Newspaper Stands

Instead of taking up additional merchandisable floor space, newspaper stands and trays were designed to fit on existing ledges under shelf systems that had previously been unused.

Door Racks

Underutilized space of storage room entry doors became an opportunity to customize a magazine and periodical rack which mounted to the retail side of the storage room door.

THE RESULT

This retail transformation maximized space to reach maximum profits.  These new displays increased customer spending and also increased revenue streams from publications.
